Welcome to Camp SPARK
Camp SPARK is a unique camp run by kids for kids. SPARK stands for Strong, Powerful, Athletic, Rockin' Kids. The camp was founded in Dallas, Texas by brothers Ryan and Blake Lieberman. The camp is as much about sportsmanship as it is sports, where the kids learn a lot of important messages and social skills in a cool, fun way. The camp provides kids between the ages of five and thirteen a great experience during the summer that they will cherish for a lifetime, where they learn how to be competitive, and where they are also being taught how to be great sports. Camp SPARK works to reinforce the the merit of making healthy, positive, responsible choices. All of this happening in a very fun environment.
Local partners Brady Kahn, Benjamin Schindler, and Weston Shosid joined the Lieberman's in Summer 2010 to open the camp's first location in Dallas. The camp has been a great success, has rapidly grown in popularity, and as a result, expanded to 4 locations for Summer 2012. The original Dallas Camp SPARK relocated to a new venue, on the Greenhill School campus, and opened additional locations in Austin and San Francisco. Camp SPARK for Girls also launched its first location in Dallas this past summer.
The Lieberman brothers partnered with Zachary Dell, who has also joined the leadership team and operated the Austin location this summer. The Camp SPARK for Girls partner is Morgan Pearlman and she ran a very successful camp in Dallas this summer. Camp SPARK also opened a special location in San Francisco with partner Ethan Wong, that exclusively provided the camp experience to local kids who otherwise would not have been able to go to a camp. Camp SPARK has given scholarships every session since it opened and will continue to do so every session of each location. Additionally, along with many of their roles as Big Brothers, its owners and counselors are actively engaged with their campers throughout the year. The kids learn a lot of great lessons, whether it’s being a good sport and positive influence or dealing with a poor sport, or worse, a bully.
Kids can sign up for one week, two weeks, or by the day, whatever works best for their family. The campers primarily do activities with kids their age. Daily activities include SPARKsports, basketball, soccer, football, wiffleball, lacrosse, swimming and many other fun activities for the boys and SPARKsports, arts and crafts, swimming, dancing, gymnastics and cheerleading for the girls. There is a special schedule full of surprises and awards on the Friday of each session. There is a certified life guard on duty at all times and the kids are supervised with an average of one staff member for every six campers.
